Katie and Andrew had the sweetest wedding at Castle Hill. They decided to forgo a first look and keep things simple and sweet. They got ready separately and exchanged gifts. Jennie Kay created the most lovely updo with Katie’s curls, finishing it with a floral comb created by Greenlion Design, the perfect finishing touch for her classic elegant style. I love that Andrew opened his present from Katie sitting on the Adirondack chairs looking out over the tent where they’d be celebrating as their guests started to arrive. During the ceremony, Andrew actually went in for a kiss at the wrong time, creating lots of laughter and and red cheeks. When they finally kissed and walked down the aisle, the guests tossed flower petals, I LOVE this idea, it adds such a festive fun ambiance to the recessional, and Greenlion Design always takes such care in creating beautiful petal cones for guests and displaying them in gorgeous antique wooden boxes. After the ceremony we completed their family photos and bridal party pictures around the property and then escaped to the lighthouse. Once we got back to the reception, Katie and Andrew were welcomed into the tent with their lanterns, exploding with flowers crated by Greenlion Design. This has to be one of my favorite summer weddings at Castle Hill, everything was simple, yet stunning. Even their little outdoor lounge area and especially the elegant pop of light aqua on the cocktail hour tables added the perfect touch of summer whimsy to their decor. After a few sunset photos on the lawn because of the brilliant hot pink sky, Katie and Andrew had so much fun on the dance floor. Their smiles were contagious. And if you haven’t peeked at their Sailing Engagement session, you’ve got to take a lookise, totally one of my favorites ever!
