Alysa and Tim’s engagement session in stunning Little Compton, RI had to be one of my favorites of the year. I know I say it on here a lot (a LOT), but Little Compton is one of my favorite places on the planet, and definitely my favorite place in RI. I probably ask my husband once a week if we can just sell our house and move there. Growing up in Farm country in NJ (it really is the garden state!), there are tons of windy streets through rolling hills and farm after farm. Little Compton reminds me so much of home, but with the added bonus that it’s right on the WATER! This gorgeous spot is Sakonnet Point (don’t ask me how to find it again, I followed Alysa and Tim to this secret nook). And I was just blow away by the light. Now, the light in Little Compton is actually always really special. It has this golden califorina glow to it, and hence it’s become my favorite location to shoot in the state. But on this particular day we had a threat of rain all afternoon, but on our arrival we had just a beautiful overcast sky, which gave us the feeling of almost being in Ireland or England with the tall grasses and farm houses. Then, the sun came out and gave us this golden light while we were walking through the grassy area, and finally, the coolest mix of sunset and storm cloud while we were finishing up our shoot on, what I kept calling Lava Rocks because of their black color. So if this post hasn’t made you want to go halfsies with me on a farm house in Little Compton, I’m not sure what will.
