Wendy and Kevin’s Willowdale Estate wedding was rustic, lacey, and super romantic. They wanted to see each other for the first time when Wendy walked down the aisle, so we made sure to do a bulk of our portraits separately before the guests arrived. After the ceremony was over we captured their family and bridal party photos, and then took off for a little escape down by the boardwalk over the river. This let the couple soak in their first married moments away from the crowd, and at the same time let me capture authentically emotional photos.
Willowdale Wedding Wows
Some of my favorite things about weddings at Willowdale estate are:
- The gorgeous bridal suite. Such a pretty place to get ready, with lovely light, a peek down to the courtyard and ceremony area, and a huge bathroom and mirrors
- The Sperry Tent. You can’t go wrong with a big sailcloth tent, especially with these muted summery colors and bistro lights dotting the canopy.
- The Estate: This stone mansion is the perfect background for any elegant rustic wedding day, providing spots for shade, sun, and not to mention a warm, glowing spot for guests to gather for cocktails in rain or shine.
- The gardens: I’ve shot at Willowdale Estate in every season, and the gardens are always abundant with unique plantings that allow for portraits flush with the green of summer or the foliage of fall.
