A wedding that should have been shared 2 years ago is finally getting its place on the blog. Samantha and Nick’s classic, timeless wedding at the Chanler at Cliffwalk in Newport, RI was a pre-pandemic favorite. They had every type of weather imaginable, sun, rain, giant hail, wind, clouds, and finally sun again. These two kept calm and smiling throughout, even when they bolted from the ceremony location to the patio of the Chanler because the hail was hitting them to hard, they laughed the whole way through! What a treasure these two are, I love love love them and wish they lived closer so we could be BFF.
Something I LOVE that might not have been possible with a bigger wedding or more demanding venue, was at the mere start of sprinkles, the Chanler came through with an umbrella for almost every guest, as well as the wedding party and couple to hold during the ceremony! It was romantic, timeless, elegant, and well, it worked! I’d love more venues to embrace the rain with the addition of beautiful umbrellas for the guests to have. Even though Sam and Nick did end up having to move under the patio, it was only because golf ball sized hail started pelting them, a little rain didn’t bother them at all.
